Well i got cutoff valve and cat filter installed. Baldwin filter overall dia is to big. So i decided to visit cat dealer. Now theres two reasons not to use a baldwin filter on a airdog.

Nice, your injectors will appreciate you for this!

went to cat today to get my filter, i could not find any other ones that were close besides another brand that was 3 micron at 99.8%, it looks as it would be a direct replacement

another thing the little tab deals, you cannot trim them down far enough for the filter to go on, they have to be taken off.

Good info on the tabs, I didn't grind mine off. Fixing to put an AD165 on my bro's 2011 mega cab and ill be setting his up just like mine with the cat filter.

For what little it takes, its worth modding the AD to fit the 2 Micron over using the 3 Micron that fits the stock AD manifold. But the 3 Micron you posted about is probably the most efficient stock replacement I have read about! A 2 Micron nominal isn't even close to 99% at 3 micron. Part number?

Donaldson p551315, its just slightly smaller than the CAT filter so you wouldnt have to grind but im not sure if you would have to take the tabs out

I checked a ton of filters they had in stock and the 0751 was only one close in CAT brand, im guessing that donaldson may have a 2 micron that is just like the 3, it was only 11 or 12$ to. I figure 3 [email protected]% is better than 2 micron at say 40-50%

Found it. For some reason I thought it was 3 Micron nominal. This would be a decent choice. I would still prefer doing the mod and running a 2micron absolute

according to our local CAT dealers computer, he told me 3 micron at 99.8%, not sure if that means nominal or absolute?

Edited my original post, you are correct.

I don't think the cat 1R0759 will fit the same

That info I pulled was direct from donaldson's website. I trust it over a vendors computer system

I think he told me it x-referenced to a cat number(not 0751) which referenced to the 0751, so i dont think it was a direct x reference. I guess i could go buy it as it was only 11 bucks and try it out
the cat filter cost me 15

Check it out. The 751 is quite a bit longer and bigger diameter than oem AD.

Keep us posted. Maybe there is a better alternative yet!

the donaldson filter wasnt much smaller than the cat but it looked as you would not have to grind the bracket

Since you guys are talking about Cat filters, do you have any info on the 1R-0750? Does it have a built in water separator? If not, is there a Cat filter that does that will replace it?

1R750 doesn't have the water seperator according to mustang cat in Houston. The guy wasn't much help other than that.

Have to go through inventory at a smaller dealer, this place won't let anyone near there inventory. And most of it is stack sheveral rows high on pallets. Huge dealer warehouse!

Maybe timmay can check out a few options at his dealer. They seem to be more helpful
