Air in fuel system

How hard will an engine be to start if the CP3 & rails are dry? I had all this stuff off the engine. I will fill the lines & filters to this point, but how much cranking before it will run? Should I leave an injector line loose & crank it first? Trying to avoid the diesel fuel bath if possible.

Good question,But im sure its no different than running out of fuel

maybe is you pull the TBC Battery fuse in the fuse box under the hood? and crank the truck a couple times it might help? or atleast have the lift pump on

I woudl think if you have a lift pump you could just crack the bleeder screw open on the filter mount turn on the pump till the filter is primed and then close the bleeder and crank it. might take a bit for it to actually start but it should go.

Gm says... so take this however you want... that you dont want to crank these starters more than 15second. After that you start shortening the life and possible burn up. Supposed to let them cool for 60 seconds between cranking attempts.

Like I said do with the info as you wish. I dont think 30 will hurt it.

Pump it about 30-40 times.
I will probably start up then stop. About 15 or so more pumps and it should fire up and run.

I have never had mine apart, so let me know how it goes. ;)
