Air Filter

I have the Banks ram air intake on my truck with an outerwears prefilter. I take the prefilter off regulaly to clean it. I was looking at the main filter on the banks and it looks really dirty, however the 'can't breathe' guage is showing that it is not really plugged at all. Just wondering how reliable those are on the aftermarket filters. I have about 34,000 on the banks filter and it should not need cleaning yet. Also, I have K&N Filter cleaner and oil in my garage for my motorcycles and was wondering if that stuff would work instead of me buying the stuff from banks??

Yes you can use the k+n oil. Just don't use too much and let it sit overnite before running the truck

Is it worth buying an aftermarket air filter. From some of the things I read stock is the best way to go.

Good question..... Does anyone also know how much horsepower the stock lbz air filter can handle before up grading ?

a stock air filter wont let as much air in but on the other hand even though it holds out more air it also holds out more dirt. thats just what i think but im no expert
