Air Dog 150 messing up?

Haven't had the air dog 150 for even 9 months yet and the motor seems to be acting funny. If you turn the ignition to "on" you can hear the lift pump "skipping" or "spitting". The performance feels fine I just wonder if that means the motor is going out. I changed the filter last month, not sure what to look at.

How much fuel do you have in tank?
Could it be the regulator sticking

It was about 3/4 full. I have no idea ab the regulator.

Mine makes that noise to after the tank gets below a 1/4 and sits all night i put a gauge on it to see if it was skipping and it stayed 12psi strong now that was just at idle. The problem i'm having is the truck will not start right up after it sits a few hours when the tank is below a 1/4 never had that problem with the 1792
