Aftermarket fluid dampners Y/N?

I can speak from gassers and I don't think they are worth the $. My Buick has no harmonic balencer on it. They didn't come on the motor from the factory, so it goes to show you the oem didn't even use rubber ones on some motors. I have built many dirt track motors that had no balencer what so ever and never had any problem with breaking a crank. Don't really see what could be much diff with a diesel :dontknow:

Simon I had a long talk with Guy (Trippin) last weekend about fluid dampners when I was down at the EFI class Pat gave. I would strongly suggest you call him and get his input directly but he has had a very bad experience with them on multiple racing engines.

ATI is the only brand I use on my race engine builds. They are rebuildable which is also nice.

The SFI approval is necessary if they start checking you for safety equipment at the track you run at. The NHRA requires them for any vehicle in the 10's, but some tracks are not that critical.

well after some research,I know I wont go with fluid dampner brand
Looks like alot of grief from those particular ones from what ive read
