I don't like the open filter element style intakes that suck in hot under hood air or the aluminum tubing that soaks up even more heat. I have seen IATs at 109* on a 58* evening from an LB7 with a Brute Force intake while sitting still, after driving a while it dropped to 69*. As a comparison my S&B intake with a home made scoop got up to 68* sitting still and dropped to 58* while moving.
Other than it not being a cold air intake I don't know of any real problems with it.

Like Dustin said, the only issue is high IATs when not moving. I would see 120º at the track when ambient was 80º.
ok cause i was told that it will make my truck run like crap i had it on for a few months but the dealer made me take it off to do my injectors under warranty
The Aem has a dryflow filter so it will not foul the MAF

I have the HD model and no problems, I have no idea why the high intake temps but then I have never taken my truck to the track like some of you all do. I have never had performance or heating problems too. Its nice not to have to change filters and I just clean it every few years or so.
:spit: how would it make your truck run like crap? Was it installed incorrectly? Sorry but I need to hear this one.
their design leaves alot to be desired but their filter is top notch imo. hands down it's the most durable filter on the market.
im just the one askin the question haha i dont know how it would i have one i had on my truck and my friend talked to joe diesel and apperently it will make the truck run like crap. i cant say it did or didnt but it was odd that the side effects he said would happen did when it was on..... but chevy did have to replace my injectors witch i thought was the problems..
