Looking at getting my stock 07 LMM tuned and was wondering what kind of tunes other people are running on their LMM's. My Duramax has about 193 000 Kilometres on it so Im also wondering about the possibility of going into limp mode. Truck has stock everything and I'm not looking to put too much into it, tuner said a tune is the way to go to add HP and improve fuel economy. Looking for other opinions on here!

Trans can live for upwards of 300k miles if you treat it right. Once you add 60hp your going to want more. Best thing to do is put a single tune in it and leave it alone.

Moved into Tuning section.

Try to keep your power increase under +100hp no matter who you have tune it.

Also gonna depend on how you use your truck. If your towing a lot or what weight your towing well depend what tuning to get. I wouldn't want to run a 100hp tune and tow heavy with it without a lift pump and built tranny. But if you use your truck just as a mode of transportation that's a different story.

I would do something like this.
1. Heavy tow with turbo brake.
2. Light tow with turbo brake.
3. Daily driving 80/90hp
4.100/120hp
5. No start tune.

When switching from a low power tune to a higher power tune you want to let the trans "learn" the new power by going through the gears a couple times at different throttle positions. Do not switch to a higher power tune and floor it.

60-80 additional rwhp single tune. Install that and leave it alone. Your trans will last a long time with that. IMO

I run a 400rwhp single tune with turbo brake on every 6 speed work truck I have tuned, including mine. I never have an issue other than the crappy converters. Most of these trucks haul equipment and dump trailers on a regular basis.

I want to clarify the converter comment. I haven't had one fail yet but they just don't hookup as good as a well made aftermarket.
