Ok so I have this guy that wants to trade his 87 4wd Toyota for my international project. I would have to include the motor in with the deal though. I'm not big on yota's so I was wonder if it's a good deal. The truck has 240k miles on it and Is pretty clean aside from a bit of rust over the rear wheel. Here are a few pics... Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks guys this is kinda the reassurance I was looking for. I was all about it when he said truck for truck but when he said I need to throw the motor in as well it just didn't feel right. If he would throw in like $500 bucks I may do it but we'll see.

Thanks again guys

No, Don't think so? Well I guess if you figure that truck is worth $1500, I've got the international listed for $1700 and the engine is worth at most $1000. Lowest I'll go on the truck is $1000 but I don't wanna cut myself short.

My biggest worry is with that truck having 240k miles is that it could go out anytime and it'll cost me 3-$700 for a "new" motor.

Your project is cheap IMO. It's going to easily bring $5000 if the cummins is in it & streetable. And price only go up as you make more performance, paint, rims n tires, built trans, etc.

I wouldn't trade him that cummins for his yota, much less the whole project truck including the cummins. He'd have to add at least $1000 IMO. And he'd still be getting a bargain IMO.

Well I wasn't going to have it running and everything. Just throwing the motor in with the deal.

I told him I won't throw the motor in but I may trade just rolling chassis for his truck. I can always build another one, I have another rolling chassis that's a 2500 and I can always find another body.

I'm going to thoroughbreds dyno day next week so I may bring it for him to look at, if he doesn't want it I'm sure someone else there will lol

87' is gonna be IFS which sucks on the yotas and if the trans is auto that sucks too...I wouldn't do it without some cash...you bringing the project to the dyno day?

:spit: Would you?? Really?? HAHAHA!!! Thats one of the funniest "I'd rather" jokes yet!!

Seriously though, Yotas are cool but I wouldn't give up your truck and motor for it unless it were very clean, those trucks are rot boxes, I bet the chassis is pretty rusty, they tend to break between the cab and body...Good luck with whatever you decide.

We'll see, if i don't have to bring the AirDog trailer i will. It's a manual.

No, the motor will stay with me. He said the frame is straight with no rust so we'll see. I had a buddy with an 86 that was rotted out behind the ps control arms BAD. Well i figure if i'll take $1000 for the International then getting that truck for $1000 isn't to terrible of a deal. Remember i still have the option to just say no once i see it. So really the ball is in my court.

Well looks as though it's not gonna get traded this weekend. I still might bring it there through just to have it and see if i can get someone interested.
