Anyone know if the AC system off a 2004.5 LLY would work on my 2001? I'll be getting the whole system. I have a really nice system lined up as I messed mine up pretty good last year. Any incite would be great. Thanks

besides the fact the lines bolting to the compressor are different than the newer trucks, i dont think there is much difference.

What did you mess up Kris? i remember you saying something about it but that was long ago

If you change the compressor and the lines its not an issuse.I was offered a smoken deal on a brand new 01 comppressor and checked in to the switch but never pulled the trigger.

new "line" at napa is 100 bucks. so that plus your 01 compressor and it would be done if everything else lined up and you decided not to change the receiver/dryer

James, when I did my triples, I leaned on the AC line that ones to the dryer over the back of the charger and it burned a hole in it in about 5 minutes of driving. I have someone that has the whole system of his lly for a real good deal and figured if I'm going to spend 100 on a new line from napa, I mine as well for close to the same price have two compressors, two radiators and two evap canisters. I figured I'd basically have to switch the compressor and hose that I need and run it to the evap right?

Compressor, drier, and lines are different from what I have seen. There is 2 different A/C lines that fit 04, the LB7 and LLY(they atatch to the drier differently).

What ferm said would be my concern. the receiver/dryer is not something i would keep. left open to the air for more than an hour unless seal completely up will ruin them. so gettin an extra one isnt worth it.

if you swap it all over, then you really have no use for your system unless you swap it all back cause you cant swap just the compressor if yours goes bad, and so on. i was gunna do what your talking about doing but got lazy and said "f it, ill buy the damn thing". personally, i though it was gunna be closer to 200 bucks for the line lol

Im swapping mine over to the 2 line newer style once the weather warms up, the 01-02 style sucks, line breaks too easy
