Mine is starting to chirp mostly in the mornings when I first start the truck. Is there a way or has anyone just replaced the pulley and clutch instead of the entire compressor? The air still works really well and is rather not have to evacuate the system and have it recharged.

Have you checked the clutch adjustment? Many times once they get over 100K miles the clutch gap needs readjusting. For the most part I have found a clutch and coil costs just about the same as a complete compressor, so you might as well do the whole shebang. I've had good luck with GPD compressors.

I didn't know there was a clutch adjustment.

I work late most days so it will be hard to have the ac recharged if I change the whole thing. I'm also driving 125 miles a day and depending on my truck to make money so I can't have the down time of sending it to a shop. It isn't too bad yet but I don't want it to freeze up on me many miles from home.

my buddy replaced the clutch/coil/bearing on the front of his compressor on his 03 easily. was half the price of a compressor as well
