Previous thread i've posted was very helpful. Hope you guys can help out once more.
I have a 2006 GMC box truck c6500. It had an ABS light on and sometimes the brake pedal would floor itself (lose pressure) and no brakes would be applied. Making it quite dangerous to drive. I took it to a mechanic, he said he changed two abs sensors at the back of the truck and cleaned up the abs module (there were metals and dirt stuck to it)
Driving it out of the lot, the driver noted that the brakes were better but not completely. While braking the brakes would brake normally and for a second lose pressure but come back the next second. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you. Also when going down a steep hill, the brakes could not be pushed physically they were very hard, and when trying to force push it the brakes made a metal grinding sound. Brake fluid was brown and at a mid level. Maybe when going down this steep hill the fluid shifted to one side and it was not possible to be pumped into the brakes? One mechanic says it looks like the master cylinder needs changing but I don't see why, shouldnt a cylinder simply be able to hold the liquid in?
