i am in the process of moving to texas and my truck is acting up and i need it fixed asap the speedometer flutters all over..wheel speed or trans speed sensor and i just crossed the border into texas and when im driving sometimes it will randomly act like it goes into limp mode it shows codes p0500 c0237 i have very limited tools right now since i am just down here tooking for a place i need it fixed asap so i can bring my family down worry free

You have an output speed sensor problem. The u joint probably caused it. You might get lucky and solve the problem with the u joint replacement. hope it didn't damage transfer case.

Do not drive on the bad Ujoint it can crack the extension housing that connects the Trans and Transfer case by way of rattle. Also Mike is right bad sensor.

Did you ever find a fix for your truck mine is doing this but only when raining out and it's getting hung in a gear never had an issue when dry out

Most likely caused because the TCU connector got water in it somehow or debris. Pull the plug, drain it, spray it with air compressor and then electrical cleaner. Check the drains in the false firewall under the brake booster and battery tray as well. They like to get plugged with pine needles, leaves, small animals, etc. When they get plugged and it rains, the overflow of water finds it way into the cabin air filter and flood the inside carpeting. The worst place for water to collect would be the front passenger foot well since that's where the TCU is connected.
