My blower motor resister finally gave out. Would work on 5(high) or off, nothing inbetween.

The one I got from a scrap yard was out of a new body 07. They listed it as the same blower and resister.

I kept my blower and swapped resisters. ReInstalled and I now have speeds 2-5 working, no 1 speed. Swapped motors and same thing.

Do the LMM only have 1-4 for blower speed vs the LBZ 1-5

Or is there another issue?

Not a big deal, I can live with 2-5. Sure beats off or full blast

That junkyard piece could already be on its way out. Wiring harness to the motor could have gotten scorched, too. What did it look like? Anything melted?
Those resistors arent expensive, so buy a new one. Rockauto shows that they are the same unit NBS-OBS too, which for some reason I find odd.

What does GM have against PWM or H-Bridge controllers? They'd last longer, and give effectively infinite speed control. Plus, less waste heat & lower load on the alternator. Oh well.

If you can live with 2-5, I'd just leave it alone, or see what the return policy is on the scrap yard. Sometimes they will let you swap it for another for free, or give you your money back. That, or pick up a new unit, like Tom said, depending on how much time you have to spend at the scrap yard.

Yea, my connector that plugs into resistor didn't look the greatest. Probably the issue. How far back does it go? Should I just snip the wires?

I bought the one from the scrap yard a while back because it was sounding the my blower motor was starting to sound like it might be going out. It said 17000 miles and came with the resister, harness and few inches of wire. So I do have a spare plug. It all looked new.

Every thing matched up between the classic + new body blower, resister and wires
