Hey guys, I been wanting to do a leveling kit lately and I was looking at the
cognito kit. The question I have is that I like to take the truck to the drags
every once in awhile. When leveling it I know it puts some strain on the
cv-axles but to what extent? Will it be a time bomb or is there some hope or is my only option an actual lift? Thanks

Bad enough to potentially tear up a cv. Once you do the leveling kit you can still lower it at the keys. Depending on how big a tire you run. Fwiw I got the same amount of lift with just cranking the stock keys.

Just drop the bars when you go to the track and you won't have a problem. I have the same setup and never had a problem, I have sleeves and braces

Gentlemen, would it be better and safer to run the cognito arms or just keys and cranked up? If you
Just have it cranked wouldn't the angle of the ball joints be stressed as well or
Is it so little that they would live ok? Thanks again

They say the cognito is better it puts a better angle on the front end, but I don't know I have never had a problem with mine

I would guess that the cognito uppers would help with the ball joints but that's about it. IMO they aren't worth it. I have been running my truck since '06 and 110k with the keys cranked and leveled. Heck even at one point had a set of leveling keys maxed out with longer bolts.

Cognito UCA's are fine. Stick with the ball joint version of them if you live anywhere besides California or warm states that see no snow. I have my stock keys maxed out and hae had no CV joint issues and the angles are not terrible at all.

Just cranking the torsion bars in my truck resulted in the worst harshest ride you could possibly imagine.

I've been considering doing a leveling kit or cranking the bars as well but i want to pull, would a leveling kit just make me lose traction on the front, i could crank the bars down before i'd pull but w/ the leveler it'd always be higher on the front, any ideas

A lot of the harsh ride comes from not changing out your shocks. The OEM style don't have much travel and that results in the harsh ride.

I have the ranchos 9000's. I wonder if these shocks would help the ride some or should I put those shock extenders. cranking up my stock torsion bars.

How bad is the ride? Btw one full turn equals about how much lift?

Do you have any problems with excessive wear with the tires and are you using the stock keys with your set-up or you got different keys?

crank the stock keys before buying green keys
cognito a-arms only offer the correct angles with green keys cranked all the way
stock shocks over extend at 1.5" cranked
