Does anyone know the differences between these two ATS turbos? Are the compressor wheels different? I know the 2000 is discontinued but I found a new one for sale for a good price and I dont really know that much about them. Does the A3K have more boost on the top end when comparing the two and is the spool up the same between the two?

You are going to waste your money on either 2 of these turbos... for the price why not go a different route? an HTT would make these 2 turbos look sad. Many better and less expensive options than ATS turbos out there.

IIRC the A2k is practically like stock and the A3k is only a bit bigger like paint94979 said the HTT is a great turbo for the next step up or a 40 series from garret is a good investment as well.

Well like I said I found a great deal and its a new complete kit. How much do the HTT turbos run? I'm sure it is a much better turbo but I dont have the money for one.

I think both of these ATS turbos run up to 38 psi which a bit more over stock, so as long as it flows a bit more air and spools faster it couldn't hurt. What do you guys think? I'll spend $700 and a partial trade for my methanol injection setup for it which seems like a steal. I dont have anymore money than that to spend so an HTT turbo is not really an option.

a 2000 is a 55mm, 3000 is 57mm, 4000 is a 63mm. Like has been said other options available. If you want ATS go at least 4000.

Depends on what you want, they are from about $2500 to $3200 depending on options like stainless housings. The "cheap" model has went 11.77 and made 674rwhp. I'm a HTT dealer and discount them for board members.

Eventually I will go with something a little bigger when I get the money but that is the only issue right now. This turbo is costing me less than half of what the HTT would cost me. Even though the ATS is a 55mm it will still flow more than stock right? Cause thats really all I'm after for the time being, I have buddies who would buy it off me cheap when I upgrade again and I wont loose any money.

Do you know of anyone who has went faster or dyno'd higher with one? I don't.

What do you have done to your truck? Do you have a built trans? Do you have efi live?

With the correct programming stock turbo trucks are pretty quick.

I think everyone is telling you that the turbo is too small and isn't really an upgrade. Proper tuning of stock turbo's will get most where they need to be.

I have a suncoast stage IV tans, EFI, and lift pump. It goes pretty good but just looking to get more out of it with a turbo. I dont need that much and with the towing I was hoping to knock my EGTs down a bit and pick up some hp but maybe this wouldnt be the right choice. The guy thats selling it said his buddy dynoed 560 something with one on only #2. Thanks for your help everyone

I dynoed 569hp on my stock turbo but the EGT's were through the roof. I used to run around all day with my stock turbo at 530hp but a 1/4 mile run would have me pushing 1800 degrees so I upgraded but IMO I would wait till I had the money to upgrade to at least an HTT than to spend the money on a smaller turbo. I don't tow much but never had any issues towing with 90hp over stock with the stock turbo.

I know everyone likes seeing dyno numbers and some have big numbers but don't run the numbers to match up. I'd go by how it performs in real world applications to better see what one works best for your application. If it's drag racing look around and see what times and mph people are running with the turbo they have. Sled pulling is differnet as rules come into play. Just cause you make XXX amount of power on the dyno dosen't mean anything if it dosen't perform on the street. Be like owning a Cummins:D having good numbers but a turd imo.
