IdahoRob commented on another thread a question I have been mulling over. Planning the engine build, I have been wondering about the relationship between boost and timing.

Without going into specific tuning info, what are the relationships between these two parameters. How does one affect the other during combustion?

A theoretical question for you theoretical types, theoretically.

I read a comment from Nick that he likes his Timing table to follow his boost table

Ive never tried this personally, but it has also got me thinking:D :DI think he was just giving a brief bit of advice though

Personally I just build the timing tables from scratch,I dont worry about numbers just as long as it works good:D

I start with low end and spooling then WOT then midrange

I watch EGTS and concentrate on shifting if it drops on shifts at WOT i adjust the timing

It takes me forever because i do 1/2 degree increments but its SOOOO worth it when its works
