Im basically stock, and was wondering if my stock ally would hold to some decent EFI Live tunes..for awhile until I can upgrade..i Had a Crazy Larry program on it, and limped it twice..doesnt take much..just tag 5th gear..haha,
Anyways, i'd appreciate some advice..Thanks

not really, only way to hold more power is to build the trans. sounds like you are just about at that point.

I'm runnin Wendy''s tune and so far so good. held 4 dyno runs and a couple dozen boosted launches no limp yet. But I am aware that it WILL happen sooner than later. I am prepared to send it off when the time comes.

You can run EFI just like anything , just very mild tunes stock trans , especially on a trans that is already talking to you .... saying buld me please . :D

The only thing you can tune on the trans to help you out would be to lower the speed for high throttle and WOT downshifts so that rather than try to hold 5th when you get on it (and slip it and limp) it will instead drop to 4th. Then raise the high and WOT shifts to 5th so that it doesn't hit 5th until high RPMs when the big torque has started to fade. You could also "delete" 5th gear from T/H mode so that if you want to romp on it you push T/H and it would downshift to 4th and stay there. Another option is to run weaker tunes that won't tear up the trans - but the best option is to build the trans and then really have some fun.
