Which side of the assemble block that attaches to the compressor it the high side, the one that goes to condesor or the one that goes to the dryer..
I've got a leak in the one coming from the condensor and was wondering if it could be tigged, If not does anyone have a ac line assembly for sale that bolts to the compressor...:thumb:

i doubt it could be tigged and IMO its not worth the little bit of savings to buy used, I love ebay for most stuff but i tend to stay away from it on hard parts and go to oreillys instead because a part is only as good as its warranty:thumb:

Lol id buy a used gm part before a o'reily/autozone crap part. Lifetime warrenty is cool and all till your replacing the part all the time. Gets old not to metion if your payin someone labor to evac and recharge an a/c system

Knock on wood Ive had exceptionally great luck with oreilly parts (new NOT remanufactured) but you do have a point on the recharge issue, i forget not everyone has the luxury of a friend with a shop that will do it for $20:eek: Those lines a very sensitive, i put a leak in my a/c manifold hose(low pressure side) by accidently putting very little pressure on it with my knee when i changed my fuel filter so if you dont trust oreilly then IMO you should buy new GM equipment. I hope im not killing anyones sale here and i apoligize if I am but id hate to see someone go to the trouble of changing it just to find out they got a leaky hose

I would replace the hose assembly myself. Most of the time the leak is at the crimp, and would require replacing the rubber hose. Problem is getting the crimped collar off without destroying the hard line. As far as repairing the metal portion, I believe they need to be brazed as it is an aluminized steel line of sorts on many. I know MARK's AIR down the road from me does custom A/C, and I believe he brazes them with an aluminum flux rod as the lines I've seen that he's done sure don't looked to have been tigged. And I guess I'm lucky as I have my own recycling machine in the shop for doing A/C.

I doubt its a crimp since he's talking welding. I bet the liquid line cracked at compressor. been there, twice.

Yeah, I was going try to braze it, I've bought some Alum flux rods about 6months ago, I knew they would come in handy, It's leaking where the alum line comes out of the block not at the crimp that I noticed,,,
