I would like to pull my A/C and heat system to save the weight up front. What have others done with the belt, grab a new one for non-A/C trucks or build a idler where the compresor was? Anyone have the number for the belt i would need? Does anyone out there need any A/C parts for their DD? I will list it in the swap section after I pull it but if you need anything let me know.

Thanks

save weight??? You are probably talking about 25lbs total, if that...

ben

I have never weighed it but weight is weight , and it would be very nice to have the IC in the front of the stack . Just for the OP the best place I can see to go after weight is in the steering , Rack and pinion setup would shave a bunck of weight IMOP , but would have to be custom , not that hard though .

Thanks for the part number GM #14102597 for future searchers.

The truck is a 2wd and anything I can dump from the front is great. Also it gets a bunch of crap out of the way for wrenching.

Swap the front suspension to a 2wd 1500 setup coilovers with power rack & pinion

Just finished doing it to my 2wd. I would not do it again, it was only about 20-25lb. Not including the wiring PITA.

Rack and pinion or A/C delete ?

The a/c delete i am just removing what is under the hood , the dash stuff i am leaving , especially after we talked :D
