Mike we are having a problem out of a 99 dodge. I know in the 47re there are two solniods 1 controls the line pressure the other controls the shifts. Two get the truck to shift a gear u have to rev the motor to 3,000 rpm let foot off gas put the truck in netural put it back and drive and then it will shift the gear. This is only 4 second and 3rd gear shifts. It goes into 4th fine. It also starts off in second sometimes to take off. u have to manually put it in first.

The funny thing about this is if u have the gooseneck hooked to the truck sometimes it will go into gear by its self and other times it needs help. Do u no what it could be. I do no there are no clucths slipping or tranny would be fryed by now. Plus it has always been on stock power. Can u also get me a price to how much it will be to fix it.

Thanks Kurt

Drop your pan and see how much metal is in it. The 47 RE has a shift solenoid, TCC solenoid, governor solenoid and gov pressure sensor. Get a code out of it to be sure but the gov pressure solenoid or sensor will probably be stuck.
