Well as most know the 6.5 bite the dust. I had another motor giving to me by my sponsor 5bees fabraication. It was a 350 with the transmission which is a 700r4 and transfer case. I just went and picked the motor up from Machine shop today with a couple new combos. The guy installed a edle brock cam i beilve he told me it was a high rpm cam. My 4 barrel which is a holy 750. My tappets ( What ever the hell that is ):confused: he also put some Speed-Pro Power Forged Pistons. Which i dont no nothing about. and he also sayed he put Crower Sportsman rods in the truck. He sayed estimated horsepower will be somewhere around 500. Tim moye will be building my transmission for my chevy for 1200 bucks. Before tranny so far i have right about 2500 dollars in the build. This should be sweet i hope. I beilve i may get headers And other misc.



Also the guy at the Machine shop told me with my cam the truck will ideal as normal. Why is that?? I want my truck to lope and sound mean like the drag cars. Do i have to by a differnt cam to get it to lope. And if i do what kinda cam. Last question i didnt mention this to the motor builder but he did not tell me anything about it so i beilve i will not need it. Do i need any kinda pusher pump to help this combo out. I have the stock 6.5 fuel pump will that be enough to fuel this rig??

Get a cam with a lot of overlap if you want it to lope at idle.

If you want it to lope, by an RV cam for it. Good for giving you a little more valve overlap for about $200 from edelbrock.

You may want an electric pump, but only if you find yourself running out of fuel. Also if you go with the fuel pump-be sure to get an adjustable relief valve-otherwise you will flood your engine with fuel!

Dale will i ppe work? I have a carter but i dont really like them to much. I have been leaning towards ppe pump if it will work.

I doubt it will work, flows too much, maybe a 1791 with a regulator on it. the PPE was meant for Diesel........ you aren;t going to pull this 350 are you?

i can vouch for tim moye, as he is not too far from where i live and had him do up a couple of work trucks from where i worked at before, and i have nothing but good things to say about tim Sr and tim Jr

so you basically threw the machine shop a bunch of money and dont even know what they did to it? You said you got the ECM all wired in, but now you're saying its carb'd? 500hp with just a cam and holley 750? Dude you confuse the hell out of me sometimes... :)

You want idle need to step it up and pick up a big roller cam, I've got a .780 lift in a 460 BBC, idles nice and low like the prostock cars.
the lobes look like your thumb on the cam.
also need to move up to good valve springs, retainers, roller rockers and good valves. that'll make it scream atleast til your cast crank goes into little pieces.
