you shouldnt need anything  just buy a new gasket..... no need to rig it up .

I bought 2 new gaskets 1 of them was the 50 cent autozone POS and this one is the 70 dollar gasket straight from chevy the reusable type. And i am 100% sure it is leaking around the pain because i can see it the whole way around. Bolts are tighten. Nothing bent i dont no what the hell is wrong

Re-torque them to 265 ft-lbs. That should stop the leak Kurt.

Naw i aint that much of a dumbass. Although i put some permetex around it and that fixed it

That is exactly what I would use to ensure that the single most important liquid is safe and sound inside the oil pan. :booboo:

Why not for once Kurt, approach a problem, wait, think, think, think, wait, then come up with a solution rather than a band-aid. I promise you, your truck will thank you in the long run.

kurt did you have the pan off to cause a leak? Why did you buy a gasket instead of reusing the nice one that comes from the factory? Maybe you should go get 8qts and drop the pan to find out what the problem is.

Kurt I thought you woulda learned your lesson after the gazzillon flex plates you trashed:violent: Do it by the specs, no shortcuts, no making up your own torque specs or any other kinds of crazyness and you'll be much better off

Definitely go by specs.. not that the bolts are not tight enough, they may be to tight and with the gasket smashed out past the pan, it will also leak.....Replaced the shift solenoids on my gas truck and dropped the pan twice that day.... Thought I could get by only replacing one of them...

Using a silicon sealer like that on the exterior of an object will never hold. I promise you it will leak and most likely it will be sooner than later. Why delay...fix the darn thing. It is hard to be a badass 2wd puller when you trans pan leaks oil, because that just isn't cool.
