I made it around 300km on mine with the yoke still stuffed into the back before it blew the output shaft bearing out of my case. Might be fine for a couple of miles, but they certainly will not handle it for long. That case had less than 10k on it too.

$895 is a little spendy. I would shop around, you should be able to get a .125 wall aluminum shaft built someplace for closer to the $725 range. Even less if you reuse your slip yoke.

There's a local place that makes steel driveshafts. They are very strong and reasonably priced (~$400 iirc). Everyone that pulls local here runs one. I'll see if I can get the contact info for ya.

A single piece steel driveshaft is dicey territory for a CCSB truck. Any driveline shop that tells you other wise hasn't run the numbers.
