742 code tq converter clutch

Rolled into throttle in 4th nice and slow, shifted out fine. Then I stopped at a light and it shifting funny. read the code 742 tq converter clutch stuck on, cleared the code drove truck again same thing. Truck wants to pull all the time foward or rev. How can this be fixed? thanks.

Sticky solenoid?

How can u tell if the solenoid is sticking?

Easy way is to just replace it. I personaly have not seen one do it. If the solenoid was at fault, it should kill the motor.

It wouldn't be that restrictor falling out of the transgo valve would it? That's exactly what happened to mine.

Edit: That's assuming you have the transgo converter valve installed.

It very well could be.

I would guess it has the lock up valve not sure. It is a suncoast kit and converter. How can u tell if that is the problem?

Pull the trans and open the pump.

drove the truck and it was really lungey kinda like a manual tranny. just before I pulled in the drive it set 700 and 872 code. the 742 code has not come back.
