Guys I'm new here, I got a 7.8duramax. In a medium duty truck. Found out injector sleeve was leaking, trying to remove and install without removing the head. There is nobody in my area , and I can't find anything online on there engines. We used a concrete anchor to remove but I found a install tool for 620$ . I only need to do one. Anybody familiar with this engine and doing these while head is still on engine? I need to make it happen quickly, I have jobs lined up for truck. Any help is appreciated! Thank you guys!!!!

I have never worked on one... But were you able to pull the cup straight out or does have threads? If it pulls straight out you should be able to use the injector to install/seat the sleeve.

Yes we removed it, they are not threaded but with a counter clockwise motion with concrete anchor it slowly spun out. U think the injector clamp will seat the sleeve?

I would treat it like any other press fit sleeve. Clean where it seats install New O-rings,lube said O-rings, apply locktite to the tip where it press fits, use a wooden dowell and hammer to seat the cup, install injector with copper washer and O-rings asap.

Bmc 1025 do you think the sleeve is just a force fit ? No need to expand end ? I measured the new tip of the sleeve where the injector sprays, the new one is 20 thousands smaller. That's a lot smaller when we're talking tolerances. That's why I was let to believe a punch of sum sort actually gets driven through sleeve to secure it? But honestly I have no idea:/
