Mike or anyone else,

I just got a 2008 Denali XL AWD with the 6.2 and I assume it has the 6L80E in it? I have a spare duramax laying around and was scratching my head thinking I should put it in the Denali. :D Would the trans and AWD thats in it work? How much power could it be made to hold if built? Right now it is just a thought that I am exploring.

Maybe I should just leave well enough alone.... Them things are NICE, and have pretty dang good power.

Alot of the guys on the g8 board are running 500+hp on the 6l80 without any issue but a G8 only weighs 4 k and they don't make the torque a duramax does

I don't think it will hold up a 6L90 might work on a stock Duramax motor

I would just "PRO CHARGE " it and save some head ache and money , I raced an H2 with a intercooled pro charger and that thing hung with my truck decent , it didnt run with me but it was pretty impressive for the weight of the rig .

yes the denali has a 6L80.

The 6L90 is a pretty solid trans, and is rated by GM to hold 520ft lbs.

I dont know what generation dmax you have sitting there but if its not an LMM it wont work. LMM electronics are the only ones that will work in a new body style denali.
