68mm Billet Cheetah messed up

so a buddy of mine threw on a 68mm cheetah and on the stock tune it barks like crazy and at 65 mph is making 22 psi. pretty sure this isnt normal?

My from experience that sounds normal to me, any modded vgt needs custom tuning and typically surges on the stock tune. But then again every truck is different.

My 72mm will surge if its really cold out and I am making alot of boost in lower RPM and let off. I have to almost try to do it though. :roflmao: Either vanes are sticking or it needs some tuning or both IMO

Definitely not normal. If anything, the veins have to be closed more than what they were/are with a stock charger. It would be laggy if not being retuned.

Exactly my point. The surging is normal if it has yet to be retuned. Once its re-tuned it will be fine...

22psi cruising is not normal. it would be making less boost i would say 22psi at cruising is far from laggy haha :thumb:
