6 speed trans in lb7.

I just picked up a 6 speed core that was I was thinking of building and putting in my lb7 to replace the rapidly dieing PPE stage 4 with over 100k on it. Can I build the 6 speed and just swap my 5 speed valve body and wiring harness into it?

Yes, quick coupler fittings for the cooler lines are different, or swap your 5-speed bellhousing on.

04 the fittings will be same you will need to swap the harness valve bodies and shift linkage assemblies and you’ll be good to go.

Kind of nothing worth wanting one over the other when either is built right in my opinion.

Allison just widened the allowed amount of slip in the 6 speeds so they appear the handle more but in reality they are just slipping more without limp mode...
