6 speed slow into gear

Friend of mine is having a issue with his lbz. Suncoast parts. Put truck in drive and try to move forward get "range shift inhibited". If you put truck in drive and hold break till you can feel truck go into gear. Drives and shifts perfect.

Does not give me a check engine light or code. But if I go into failed since ignition cycle on my snap on scanner it gives me a p0752.

A valve possibly stuck?
Solenoid?

Truck has new filters and fluid.

Any help will be appreciated.

I would question the tcm. Also even though you say the trans has new filters could also be an internal valve body harness issue or even a sump partial restriction from clutch material or residue. I think it would be worth it to drop the pan and pull apart the sump filter for inspection. I had one doing this and after I changed the sump it went to working perfect many miles ago. If you dont do a real good job cleaning your clutches you will get some residue that may cause you a little grief. Good luck.
