6.5 lift pump on Duramax....

I read online where some people had been using a factory 93 6.5 lift pump for a lift pump on a Duramax. I'm thinking about getting one. I know it won't support a lot of power but it flow through incase It ever poops out....

At stock power yes.... Anymore then that it can't keep up

Go with an aftermarket unit. You can plumb it so if it ever fails you can bypass it very easily. Seems better off to use a good unit that will support future mods

As often as they fail, I wouldn't. And it is not a flow on fail design, so if it stops be prepared to go to a crawl. I still think the unreliability of the 6.5l lift pump is why GM didnt put an electric one on the duramax.
