If anyone has any stock 5 speed tcm tunes they could send me that would be great. I would like to try other year os's other than my 05 to see any differences and to see if I like them better. I have never had problems with my 05 os but now I am curious to try others.

Tune file depot had a few different tcm tunes.

2 2002 os's 15079907 and 15172881.

And an 03 tcm tune 15184109.

Out of those 3, which would be the most ideal to make a new tune off of (as far as shift quality goes) if i want to still keep the tcm lock up tables?

My truck has push button 4wd, im not sure how to tell what os is push button vs floor shift, or is that in the ecm tune?

I'm running the 15175854 OS out of my 01 in my LLY and I love the way it shifts, IMO it adapts quicker to the tune and power differences and almost seems to click off the shifts faster. Only thing I do miss is the OD lockout. My stock TCM OS shifted hard and 3-4 shifts would never really learn.

I agree, 01 os is the best for the 5 speed as far as I can tell. I think Mike said the power doesn't confuse it as much or something to that effect...

Ill stick with the 03 os in my 05. I think it has the best shifts personally. The 01 os always has a harsh 2-1 downshift in my lly (as well as my lb7) , can't modify slip inhibit tables, and lose my high idle.

So i went with the 03 os and made a tune. Seems to work fine and the shifts are definitely better than my 05 os. Main thing I noticed is that the lock up inhibit function on the 03 os doesn't work near as well as it does on the 05 os on my truck. Regardless of tune, I still need to use my lockup box if I'm doing any WOT runs from 50+mph pulls. No matter what I do in the tune the converter will unlock in 4th gear then relock, unlock, shift to 5th then relock again and stay locked. If I'm doing 30mph rolls it will lock perfect (on the 05 os) and stay locked the entire time. Lock up box obviously takes care of the lock/unlock so it's no big deal.

Good info Mike I might have to try the 03 OS out of one of our ranch trucks. I miss my OD lockout when towing using my 01 OS.

She's had a solid day to learn on the 03 os in conjunction with the new mike shift springs. It is absolutely awesome! The shifts are much faster than my 05 os. Part throttle shifts are instant, full throttle shift are just as fast. I'm loving this 03 os with my new trans and shift springs!
