Besides looks what's different ? Really just wondering if they will interchange. I'm talking about the internal filter.

Allison ordered me the "new" part number. I looked up my order history and when I bought last time it was the "old" number. So they obviously work in either, but according to that other thread the "new" flows and filters more. Dunno.

There was a change over sometime. I've gotten an Allison 1000 pan filter before and it didn't fit, so I bought another one and it was right. Later down the road a buddy did a transgo jr on his 09 and it matched up.

Second design filter was made for the 6 speed to better clear the extra pipe on valve body.

Was curious cuz I went back to the Allison dealer and the new number superseded the old one so. The parts house sold me one for a 6 speed and I know it looked just like the normal 5 speeds so I put 2 and 2 together.

Man than trans looks horrible lol, deep pan time!

Well when they come in with 1" of cow shit and mud caked on, the cleaning process is pretty rough lol. I repainted it before it went back in. And I'm not sold on a deep pan. Just more fluid to change, and I can think of a lot of other things to spend customers money on lol
