I have a SCIII 5-spd allison in my 02 4wd.

What would be the best way to put those clutch packs (and whatever else is in an SCIII) from my 02 into the 06 2wd transmission? Are the clutches/steels the same for both? So I could take them out of the 02 and put them directly in the 06 as-is. Then take the stock ones from the 06 and put them in the 02 as-is and end up with a stock 02 5-spd (well, almost stock. I realize the VB's won't interchange so the SCIII-modified 02 VB would have to stay in the 02 alli) and SCIII 06 6-spd (with the addition of a Transgo JR VB stuff)?

I'm pretty sure I'd have to add a Trango Jr. to the 06 in order to take care of the valve body stuff since the modified 02 VB won't work in the 06, right?

The torque convertor will work in either one though, right?

Seems like I read somewhere that I can just switch the valvebodies, internal wiring harnesses, external plugs and be done with it?? is that right? because that sounds a LOT easier than tearing down both tranmissions to swap internals. Probably should do the teardowns though just to check them both out and change anything that's worn while they are out. Out of curiosity though, is this possible to just change some simple stuff and actual "cores" are interchangable???
