change the knock retard tables,cut down how much timing it pulls and for how long. add a litle more timing overall and up the line pressure in the tranny,plus cut down the shift times (did all that to my 6.0 gasser before i got a d-max)

Exactly...Normally you can add 2*, sometimes 3*...I also raise the RPM of the shift points, seems to help cut down on the layover when it hits the next gear...
