ok, so i drive onto the beach yesterday and everything is fine driving out. when i went to leave i pulled out of my spot and starting toward the off ramp. when i got to the ramp the sand was really lively but ive never had a problem before with this type of sand. my front end started to hop and dig down in the sand but my rear tires werent spinning. long story short, the truck got stuck in the front but the rear wasnt doing anything. i could spin the tires in the front but the rears would still do nothing. what could cause this? this is baffling me and i need to get it fixed before winter gets here. thanks in advance for your answers.

Once you got pulled out would it move in 2wd at all, If so have you tried doing a power stand to seeif both back tires spin?

It could only be a transfer case problem if in fact this happened. I have never heard of this in any 4X4 ever, but that does not mean it can't happen.
