They do some pretty sick 3.8 supercharged stuff, I'd imagine that it would cross over to the V8 stuff as well as for making the transmission hold

There are actually two different bellhousings, apparently. Both the Grand Prix GTP with the Supercharged 3800 Series III and the Grand Prix GXP use a 4T65E-HD. The difference is the one for the 5300 has a transmission mounted starter, and the one for the 3800 has an engine mounted starter. The LS4 5.3 was designed to be in a FWD car.

Well, I don't think we're going the LS4 route, instead probably going to go with a supercharged 3800 Series III, but I'd still be interested in fixing the stock transmission; They don't give me a "Warm Fuzzy" as from what I've heard, they seem to fail before 130k OFTEN. How hard is it to rebuild them compared to an Allison?

4T65E with SC will eat hard parts and cost a fortune to build.

That's what I was thinking, although some people on the Grand Prix forums claim that it'll hold with the SC'ed motor. Personally, I'm a little nervous about ANY 4T65E, including the -HD, but the -HD is what's under the SC'ed Series III and the much more powerful 5.3L LS4. Any thoughts on a performace build for the 4T65E-HD that'll make it last? Or should I see if the guys at ZZ Performance sell any kits?
