Hey Mike I know this is mostly all dmax stuff but Im sure you would have knowledge on this as well.
My Brother has an 04 cummins that lost 2nd gear yesterday, so we pulled the pan and the first thing we noticed was a large selective snap ring looks like the kind that hold the clutch packs in place in pieces and check ball in the pan. We then pulled the VB and Im guessing its the 2nd gear band was broken. Any ideas what would cause all that failure? Its original trans and his Fiance drives the truck and tows mostly with it. The VB was modified to raise line pressure to 120-140psi.
We have been pricing kits for the rebuild mostly Goerend parts. What upgrades to the trans do you think will be needed to handle a bullydog programmer or possible a smarty in the future? Also does suncoast have kits for this trans?
Thanks
