I looked at one of those kits a while back. I'm curious to see how they would work out in a higher HP application like yours.

Not sure on the air ride part on the track, anyone know of any people running the 1/4 on bags only?

Im wondering if i could go this route to be able to tow with my truck? Im missing all but 2 leaf springs but with the airbags could i tow then? I would never tow anything over like 8k pounds.

With leaf springs you still have to worry about axle wrap, airbags will help level the truck but do nothing to help hold that axle. The 4 link is what holds the axle in this setup. I think that is what you were asking? Can you take all but 2 leafs out and use that and bags to tow?

I love my 4 link with bags it rides nice and tows even better. I dont run my fat pig in the 1/4 but with the right shocks and the air pressure fine tuned I think it would work well.

Im saying i only have 2 leaf springs and cant tow shit right now, so if i added a kit like this would i be able to tow? Will the bags in essence work like leaf springs to handle the weight from towing a trailer?

PAC CAR has a nice helper bag set up, even the air rite 5000 kit i have is not too bad. My kit will take 5000lb of load before the leaf spring feels a pound, theoretically. I like my air rite kit, it was easy and cheap, i would get the pac car kit if i did it again though.

So yes, you will be able to tow again with out putting leafs back in, if you were to install helper bags, in fact i plan to remove the overloads out of my spring packs soon.

If you have good trac bars then I would say yes. Airbags will take the weight but not help at all with axle wrap, if you didn't have a good set of trac bars your axle would wrap when you got on it and throw the driveshaft

Make sure you guys do a good job mounting the bracket for the helper bags, the retard that owned the truck before me only drilled and taped the frame with 3/8s bolts, no nuts on them. One ripped out of the frame with 8k on the rear axle and 14k behind the truck, lucky I was going slow and straight when the rear corner dropped 5 inches

Id ask what size tubing was used for the links, and what materials were used for everything. Drag racing/pulling could put a hell of a lot of strain on those parts.
