35w or 55w HID's for foglights

Just wondering on my 06 :gmc: if the the 55w bulbs would get too hot for the foglight housings?

55w will work perfectly and won't melt anything

That's what I am wanting to do also, but I also wanted to put 55's in the low beams. I was advised not to do that though.

im running 55w in my low beams and havent had many people at all flash me, but i also have denali projectors. im running 35w in my fogs and lots of people flash me for those havent got hot enough to discolor the reflector at all like the halogens did in my old fogs.

imho 55w is just too bright even when properly adjusted. my vote is for 35w
