I think the 454 in our 98 3500HD is getting tired. Very tired.
Looking at putting an old 12 valve into it with a 5 spd manual.
OH NO i know, no dmax here, dont think id be able to get the boss to swing that kind of coin, theres at least 3 parked outside everyday anyways.
I know these trucks were a class of their own, completely different animals, but are their motor mounts the same or similar, say if i bought a set of pre made chevy-cummins motor mounts from auto world, would they work? or not?
Thats really the only difference i guess, because electrically things are simlar and I know I would be having to change driveshaft lengths and such.
Just spitballing ideas here, didnt pay much for the truck, the motor is just a complete pooch and it getting tired i think. But the chassis of these trucks is too good to waste.
