Well I went to Discount tire today and ordered the Moto Metal 959 18x9's and planned to put on a set of Nitto Terra Grappler 305/60/18's but they said that this tire is not recommended for my truck due to it's a low ply tire and they can not sell it to me for my truck. I really wanted the little extra width.I told them it had a pretty good load rating and he looked them up and they still say its not good for my truck. We looked over a list of tires and and came up with the 285/65/18 which was a little taller but about 3/4" narrower and it is a real E rated tire. I thought some on here ran T/G 305/60/18's. I guess the LT285/65R/18 are better if I plan on hauling much weight. What do you think?

What ply tire did they tell you the 305/60/18's are? They told me they would not last long on my truck and even less if I haul very much. Their computer would not let them sell to me for safety, he did show it to me also? Maybe they updated their computer software?

I just ordered some 305/50/20 today that are not e rated. They have a 120 rating. same as the nitto you were wanting. The guy said he had to advise me these are not rated same as stock, but when I said I know he said ok. There isnt much difference from stock he said so i will be fine. I bought from discount.

On edit, the 305/60/18 Nitto can carry 3100lbs each. The stock 245's that come on our truck in e range are E1 120. That means at 65psi they are rated for 3100 as well. I would get the 305's if I were you. Order online or call and talk to someone else.

He did give me the LT285/65R/18's which are E rated and was a higher price for the same price as the 305/60/18's($231.00ea). I do haul a fairly heavy load a couple times a year and I read that 305/60/18's will feel wobbly? Any one hauled with these tires if so what did you think? I don't pick them up until Wednesday we are waiting for my wheels to come in.

I had 305/60R18 Nitto Terras on my truck for while. I liked em but they didn't last too long. I Dont recall exactly how many miles I got out of them but it was roughly 10-11 months. I did do a fair amount of 1/4 mile passes on them as well as a few burn outs, but for the most part it was straight highway miles and absolutely 0 towing. My truck doesn't even have a receiver hitch on it.

3100 per tire is fine. I ran a 285 60 18 falken that was 2600 per tire for quite a while. Now I run 325 60 18 that r 3500 per tire e rated. Just hauled a ccsb about 160 miles with a bumper pull trailer and the stability these tires had was awesome. My dad runs 285 75 16 nitto tg and they feel like they "float" around too much for my liking.

I know the ply rating is not what we would usually run. They have a better speed rating and the load rating is plenty good enough to haul and be safe with. I have gotten about 10k on them now and they look good still. I probably smoked 5k off them already too.

The 305's are a 4 ply tire, ''e'' rated tires are 10 ply,if you do any towing at all i would go with a e rated tire
