Allison 5sp: 3-4 shift not right

hi new to the forum I finished my first tranny build on 2003 chevy 2500hd lb7 when I was done used my edge cs to do trans relearn what a bad idea took it out shifted so hard thought drive shaft was going fly off brought it straight back to shop used snapon solus it starts to do adpt relearn then gives me error code so it let me reset taps did then retried adpt still no go took for a ride shifts great except for 3-4 up shift hard and at mid throttle flares I guess u would call it flare seems like it goes in twice wot is best feels almost normal just firm more I drive little throttle is smooth just cant get mid to act right can someone give me a direction to go in no codes being first one sure I did something wrong any help would be great

it just said consult operation manual which not sure what that means how can I look it up based on that discription

You're not helping much. I am not familiar with revmax kits or your capabilities. Need a lot more info on kit contents and clutch numbers especialy in C2.

alto c5 152759,c4 gpz1014,c3 gpz1013q1,c2 gpz1002,c1 gpz1001, allisonpowervalve a1lubst,ratiotech regulator spring and shim kit I did not install shim rta01pr, transgo shift kit and a overhaul kit I did install new apply piston seals on c1 and c2 and c5 is new all so cracked rear tail housing trans worked great before just figured that this was the time to build trans

Wasn't rev max one of the converters that was known to have issues with the allison? Can't remember right now, but I thought years back somebody had some horrible problems on a fresh build, and it ended up being his rev max converter that was the issue. Can'tcompletely remember all the details(oldtimers startin to catch up to me).

.075 on c2 when I bought the kit I couldn't find any bad reviews on revmax u do feel it when torque converter goes to lock up

That's because your pressure is lower. Which is slowing down the apply of C2.

I don't have any experience with those clutches, but Evan and Mike will take care of you there.

But tuning can also play a roll in causing the 3-4 shift to do exactly what your describing.

Has the trans worked since the tail housing was replaced? Just wondering if a torrington may be messed up, or a shimming issue since I see you said you replaced acracked tail housing. And what tuning is in it? Have you put a stock tune in it to rule that out?

First thing I would do is see what the truck does with a stock tune. Just because it was fine before the trans was built doesn't always mean it will be after.
