I think this motor would work fine in a Tahoe or 1/2 ton pickup but I seriously doubt this motor could hold its own against a diesel. IF this motor could tow as much, with the same acceleration and ability to hold speed on hills. I wonder how much worse the fuel mileage, especially when towing would be compared to a diesel. Also, I wonder how long this small 3.2L motor putting out 450 hp/660 tq will last.

The ethanol engine is going to be very thirsty.

They need to do fact checking better. 5000rpm = Diesel RPM? Right.

$4500 more than a gas engine, or 1/2 the price of a diesel? Huh? Gas engine is about $5000. Diesel is about $11000. Keep in mind the cost you pay for the diesel option is more than just the engine.

While it's undergoing teething pains, the GM Direct Injection gas engine is some amazing technology. 300+ HP naturally aspired in the Camaro IIRC. More than most V8's were a few short years ago.
