Even though this has been beat in the ground a bunch, here we go again: I'm thinking of ditching the M & H slicks and going to another tire that could be driven on every day and still perform at the strip without traction issues. Any ideas would be appreciated :)

Larry as much power as your truck has. I don't think you will be able to get anything to hook up at the track other than the slicks.

At M&H, you won't find much for a 16" wheel though. The 390/45/17 is 29.5" tall. :thumb:

I havn't seen the Proxes II's...............but the old Proxes would be the 'next-best-thing' to a drag radial. Seems like those were available in seversl sizes. The old 275 series Proxes I used to run did very well. (4x4 yielded 1.60's).............a wider Proxes on a 2wd might do fairly well?????

I run Proxes S/T's 275/60/16 on PYO's and have cut a best of 1.64 with them... i like just pulling up without adjusting anything and running 1.6x 60's:D
