2024 Duramax issues?

My 24 seats are leaps and bounds better than my 16. No comparison, the 16 was uncomfortable in under an hour in the seat, in the 24 I never got uncomfortable in 12 hours of straight driving. I’m not sure why, they look similar and aren’t soft maybe they just got the lumbar support right for my back this go around or I just got old enough to need it now. Lol.

Yeah I dunno, my dad’s 24 and my 20 are the same to me. He did say he liked the seats more than his 15.5. He has the ZR2 which I really like how it’s 2” higher and comes on 35’s already

It’s been a great truck to keep this thread updated. Only issue I’ve found so far is a questionable fuel gauge. My I dash starts showing low fuel way before the truck trips the light. I waited until the truck illuminated the low fuel light and all 3 times I put over 35 gallons in it. Aren’t they supposed to hold 36? Seems odd gm would push the fuel level so far, I only had about 10 miles left before it was empty. I would think this would cause fuel pump issues down the road as it had to be sucking some air with the fuel level that low. What do y’all think? Anyone else experiencing this?

My truck has been great ever since they fixed the little gremlins I had going on. After they installed 2-new batteries everything is great.
About two months ago I took it in for its first fuel filter change and then for an oil change. They said they had a software update and they did it. Ever since that update, my fuel mileage has dropped about 15%. I drive the same route to work and home every day(total of 50 miles driven). It's getting between 17-18 mpg. It used to get 19-22mpg. I buy my fuel from a high volume station. Otherwise love the truck. This transmission is so amazingly smooth. If I didn't look at the tach I would never know that its shifting.

That sucks… I wonder if they upped the regen frequency

Yes, mine goes into regen more often now. Not super happy about that.

I used to be able to tell when it would go through a regen. My mileage would drop to around 13 mpg. It doesn't do that anymore. I can only tell by the smell when it's occurring. NC, does your Banks unit give you a history of regens or just when it's happening?

You can pull up a counter, but it has a little light that comes on to alert you when it’s happening.

I don't have the full OnStar with tracking. I have the mygmc app and can locate my truck with my phone.

Had to have the key or a skimmer.

You can just make a new key with the VIN. Snap a photo of it and program a key right there in the parking lot. Which I am pretty damn sure is what they did.

Also from what I hear they can somehow take out or disable OnStar. That's what I have seen on the news and read on forums so take that with a grain of salt.

The main truck was looking for stuff because I have him on camera coming out of the parking lot of the clump of warehouses next door to us. Rolls right into the parking lot and parks right next to the Denali at 1:34 PM. Nobody gets out of the truck and then somehow my camera systems go down for three minutes until 1:38, truck is still sitting there passenger side though. He backs out of the spot a few seconds and seems like he is gonna drive off but then parks in the row behind him. 1:39 he pulls up to the driver side of the Denali. 1:42 guy gets out of the other truck and is standing on the running boards and stepping up and down, no idea wtf he is doin can't see it. I think he was taking a picture of the VIN because at 1:43 he goes and gets back in the other truck. 1:44 he gets in a drives off.

Took 10 minutes total. Pretty interesting and wish I could have seen what they were actually doing. Too bad my cameras here suck balls. No front plate on the thieves' truck and the back plate I can't make it out, sorta looks like a Mexico plate with three segments but I couldn't say for certain. But it's crazy that they just rolled right on in almost like they knew. I don't think they did but he was definitely cruising this area looking for trucks to steal.


What is crazier is that there was a landscaping guy standing no more than 60 feet away from them watching this happen.

Skimmer or some kind of access to a system that let's them start them based off the Vin.
One of our employees had his king ranch stolen from a flea market. The sheriff said that was the fifth one that day. That's one of the things I don't like about "push to start" but it probably doesn't even really matter anymore.

Usually, all you have to do is disconnect the antenna for it. Some of them you can reach right under the dash and pull the antenna connection at the module. You can also unplug the module too.
