I want to know 1. What it will make tuned and 2. If the trans will lives tuned. If The trans will live tuned, or it will make 600whp tuned, I'll buy one. I doubt either one will happen though but I Hope I'm wrong.

You're going to have to wait for those answers, because its going to be a while before they can be tuned.

I'm fixing to take delivery of a new CCLB for a work truck in about 2 weeks super excited for it but at the same time nervous about the new motor...
Either way it's a CHEVY :thumb:
We will keep it stock until stuff starts getting clogged or broke then it goes by by so hopefully by then the aftermarket crowd will have plenty of options :woott:

Haha! I'm curious to see what it'll run in the 1/4.

As for tuning, I think it'll come within a few months. I can't see it taking years. Too much money to be made.
Look how long it took for the LML to get tuned, then look at all the fines that followed to the companies that made tuning for them. I'm sure they will get cracked, but I'm willing to wager it will take longer than the LML did, ESPESCIALLY with the heavy handed EPA still out there.

I'm about as tuning illiterate as it gets but I thought the l5p and 2.8 Colorado diesel used the same ecm and that tuning was already available for the Colorado? So it shouldn't be too far off..

I think it's the same manufacturer, not the same ecm.

Yep same manufacturer but the L5P ECM has GM coding which is tough to crack. The tuning market has evolved at an unbelievable rate the last 4 years. The right guys are working on cracking these & there is enough money to be made.

Trip

Filled Up Tuesday and got on the road from the station in less than a minute, and under 1/2 mile. Averaged 70+ mph on the DIC for over 100 miles. Trip was Baytown to Baton Rouge, New orleans (under 30 mph traffic for 5 miles), back to Baton Rouge via Hammond, to Central, St. Gabriel, almost to Central, then headed home filling up in Rayne. Put 30.9 gallons in the truck.

Sorry for the long description of trip, 90% Highway 10% in town and traffic.

So if you drive like most of us down here you where doing 90mph down I10 and still got 18.7? Pretty good I bet I would get 17.5 on that trip.

Well I do have a side seat driver and the warning buzzer turned on. The "You are driving too fast" buzzer is set at 80mph and it did go off more than once. I was doing good with the cruise set between 72 and 75 between Baytown and Baton Rouge except when traffic gat a bit thick.

IMG_0903.jpgAlright finally got my new Work truck!
Does anyone know if I can have the dealer program a key fob for the door lock/unlock?
It didn't come with it being that it's a WT but they are power locks so I'm assuming I can?

Finally got off work early enough to go test drive a new L5P.

For bone stock I am impressed. My cummins is no slouch with the 400/900 flash but I miss the Allison.

I am pleased to see the throttle sensitivity has been changed, one thing I hated about the 15 LML as well as my Cummins.

Seems like I cannot find a single cab 4wd L5P in the country though, I want one if I can find one.

Nice truck what did it cost you? Once I run my 08 into the ground I might have to find me a new diesel work truck, but I'm probably to cheap.

Been trying to catch it to see if it's on downshift or if its just acting funny.

When I take my foot of the accelerator petal, the truck feels like its accelerating for a split second then drop off speed.

Alright so first impressions of driving the work truck 2017 cclb 2500.
Wow! It rides as smooth as my wife's traverse and pulls like a train :D
I truly forget my 8-10k pound trailer is back there which is scary but I will get use it it.

As far as issues... the turbo makes a weird high pitch frequency that resonates inside the cab down by my left foot at certain rpms/load
And when idling in drive rolling I hear a weird ticking underneath the truck almost like in the exhaust :screwy:

All in all if I had the money I would personally buy one without hesitation!!!
Until I can though I'm going to keep driving my Lly like a Camaro :thumb:
