Ignition principle remains the same, as long as it has compression and something to burn, it will go roundy round

Hahahaha

I shouldn't laugh, and I'm not laughing at the incident cuz it's a shame that happened...
But the reaction of the guy when the coolant hose (assuming) blew was great!

I literally spit saliva out I laughed so spontaneously

That definitely sucks for the guy that owns it! Always hate to see that stuff happen on brand new trucks. Have to be turbo related issue specially since it was white smoke unless a freak issue with the injectors but I find that really hard to believe.

Had a local kid with a '13 denali trash his turbo & it ran away like that. He had watched enough youtube videos to know that stuffing his jacket in the intake would stop it. Motor wasn't hurt cause he stopped it in time. Not the case here. Ouch!!

I had that happen to a log truck I was driving once. That 400 Cummins was turning about three grand LOL. It was drawing so much air I couldn't get the top off the air cleaner so I could cover and stop the air had to pull the fuel filter off that stopped it. Thought it was a failed fuel pump so replaced it but on start up it took off again LOL. As it turned out the fuel tank had twisted in the saddles kinking the fuel return against the frame.
It was scary pulling the filter as I envision the thing coming apart like a grenade. I probably looked pretty funny running around that truck too.:roflmao:

Another reason to keep a small fire extinguisher onboard your truck. Spray that into the intake and it will shut her right down.

I wouldn't spray an extinguisher down the intake. First you got to get the filter off unless it would plug up the filter to stop the air flow. your going to be rebuilding the engine after your done with all the shit in it.
