2015 injector #7

I have a 2015 high country. It is throwing a short to voltage code on injector #7. Truck shakes and is running terrible. I pulled it out and had it tested and it is testing bad. What would cause an injector to short out electronically? I did take it threw a good size puddle recently but Im wondering something else took it out.

No warranty, shes deleted so not all stock my bad.

I would think they would still cover an injector since tuning isn't going to kill the coil in it. Sounds like a fluke to me. I was under the impression the piezo's had been very reliable.
