2015 6.2L 8 speed

Hey Mike are you very familiar with this trans? I have only 60K on my z71 4x4 and this trans has never seemed to operate right. At times when cold and i put it in gear to take off there is a huge lag/hesitation. Also the 1-2, 2-3 shifts are very sloppy/clunky at times. The tcm has had all the calibration updates via dealer and the trans was rebuilt by dealer last fall at 48k ish. The dealer is saying GM tells them that this is normal and acceptable. Any thouights?

I own one ( '16 GMC 1500 6.2 Z71 ) and it is the worst trans I have ever driven. Never know what it's going to do. I hear the new 10 speed is just as bad. I have had all your symptoms since I bought the truck. 25K miles.
The ZF HP 90 eight speed in the Hellcat is the kat's meow. Never driven a better shifting trans in my life. The Ram 1500 uses the same ZF trans.

So basically you are saying it's not worth fighting with Dealer/GM to do anything further about it? I just dont want to waste more time if there is no solutions if that makes sense. And thanks for the quick reply!

I love the truck, but there is no help for the 8 speed. I have a few customers with Vette's and they have the same complaints as we do. Too many gears. My truck is in 8th gear at 45 mph and the rpm is 1100. Step on the throttle and see what happens' Nothing. It can be dangerous trying to get out of someones way.
I'm afraid the new Duramax 10 speed might act the same.

I love mine as well, but the trans makes me wonder how long it will last. Things that make you go hmmmm
