Dads 2013 Silverado has those terrible little factory mirrors and you cant pull a trailer of any size and see it comfortably.

My question is this, the truck has power heated mirrors with no signals, dad wants to go to the tow mirror with the signal and is curious if the truck has the wiring in the door for the signal plug?

We have a vendor that hopefully will chime in, 1AAuto, has just about every option you could imagine for tow mirrors.

And as far as power folding, GM has yet to get their shit together and offer that option.

I dont care about power fold really. He just wants to know if the plug is there for the truck to add signal mirrors.

I can see if I can match a set up for you if you would like. I'd need to know the year, make, series of the truck, and what features your mirrors currently have.

Such as power, heat, turn signal ETC.

This is something that really bothers me... I went through AMautoparts again, as they are local drop shippers.

Anyway what drives me nuts is like Tony just did asking about option the "mirror" has.

Here is a break down for anyone looking at or selling mirrors. It is the same thng I texted AMauto.

2003-2007 classic, and the 2007-2013 obs if you truck has rear window defrost your truck is wired for heated mirrors. If you truck had power mirrors then the truck is wired for signal mirrors, the memory option or curb assist option you do NOT need to spend the money on the memory option if you don't use it like me. You just turn off the curb assist in the DIC.

The plugins are universal, but the number of pins vary.

Perhaps Ben can chime in and verify all this for us. My knowledge is based on 6 different trucks getting mirrors relaced with upgrades and sometimes down grade mirrors.

The reason why I ask what features your truck mirrors currently have is, I like to make sure that the tow mirrors that we carry would have the same features so that the pinning inside of the plug is right.

If we match the features, you're not going to have an issue with something not working because the wiring is different.

I was just trying to help out, so that you didn't run into any issue, if you decided to order a set of mirrors that we carry.

To the best of our ability, we try to ensure that our customers are going to receive a part that they are not going to have an issue with.

Best Regards,
Tony

Ben they do make memory tow mirrors, or so I am told, but you have to go aftermarket.

the memory option is something that drives me nuts anyway. I switch trailer way too much and when I am backing the mirror will change to where I want it on the other trailers and then I have to stop and fix it. So I went without the memory feature, and then disabled it in the dic.

No worries Tony and I apologize if I seemed like an ass. I have used yall before and was very happy with the product.

Whats odd is I ordered from AMatuoparts.com and the boxes all said 1A auto.

I just wish the sites clearly stated that signal mirrors can be a upgrade to the factory non signal power mirrors, so I wouldn't have to get online and ask people. It would be nice to know that the memory feature is NOT needed if you don't want it, that if you have power mirrors you can upgrade to signal, that if you have heated rear window you can have heated mirrors..

Like I said I was not trying to be rude, I had to convince the company I ordered from that the mirrors would in fact work for me.

Any confirmation PROOF that the memory feature works?? Like I said, im not doubting anyone...but I just find it hard to believe that the aftermarket would R&D the memory portion themselves, when they dont have the factory mirrors (which dont have memory) to copy it off of.

Well the aftermarket charges $60 dollars more for the memory option. Like i said i didnt get them as i font like it any way. Tony would know for sure but i can NOT verify.

For someone like u ben how much r&d would it be to make that happen? If the small mirrors feature the memory option couldnt that be retrofitted into the larger tow mirrors?

They already have power fold tow mirrors...............

Mid year addition to the 2015 model year trucks. They've been out for a couple months.

I was unaware of that, when the 2015 first launched all I saw was they were not an option. Good to know they finally got it together.
